Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 7: Few senior police officials in Jammu and Kashmir Police Department have allegedly kept their possession on government accommodations even after their transfer to other districts.
Sources told Early Times that it has been reported that the government accommodations provided to senior police officials posted in different districts have not been vacated by them and they continue keep their possession creating difficulty for new officials, who take charge in their place.
"These officials don't handover the keys to the concerned department before leaving their place of posting after their transfer due to which new officials in find no place to stay," they alleged further adding that even lower rung officials have also been following the suit of their seniors and continue to make illegal possession on their accommodations.
Expressing their resentment, some senior officials demand that government accommodations, which have been possessed illegally be vacated at the earliest. When Early Times contacted a senior police official for his comment, he said that the issue can't be sorted out at our level, only DG can interfere into this matter.
