| Court extends seven days police custody in Ban terror Attack | | |

JAMMU, Feb 7: The Jammu & Kashmir Police today produced three arrested over ground workers (OGWs) Sartaj Ahmed Mantoo, Asif Ahmed Malik and Sameer Ahmed Dar, residents of Kakapura-Pulwama before Special Court for seeking extension of remand. The three OGWs are involved in Ban Toll Plaza militant attack on January 31 2020 in which three Pak militants were killed.
The third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Subash C Gupta after carefully gone through the CD file and the present application and perusal of the CD file observed that the stage of investigation, submissions made by the I.0 of the case and the gravity of offences involved in the present matter, this Court is satisfied that further police remand of the accused is imperative.
Therefore in view of the submissions made in the application, the accused are remanded to police custody for a period of seven days. Accused be provided medical facilities, while they are in police custody during the currency of remand period. They are apprised of their right to engage counsel. |
