PHE workers stage protest, demand release of wages

MENDHAR, Feb 8: The PHE workers from Sub Division Mendhar in Poonch district held strong protest demonstration against the State Administration and demanded release of their pending wages.
The employees of the department, under the banner of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, led by its president, Zulfkar Ahmed Khan assembled at PHE Office Mendhar in the morning and started massive protest demonstration. The workers from Mendhar Balakote and Mankote besides Mendhar Division participated in the protest programme. They were shouting slogans against the higher authorities in the PHE department and also the State Administration. They alleged that despite repeated representations and protest dharnas, the authorities failed to address their issues.
Zulfkar Ahmed Khan while addressing large gathering urged upon the state authorities to resolve the pending issues of the PHE employees/ workers or get ready to face long agitation. He condemned the attitude of the higher authorities in the department for ignoring their demands.
