JAMMU, Feb 8: A National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex, Janipur Jammu under the Chairmanship of R.K Wattal Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu, and under the overall supervision of Naushad Ahmed Khan, Secretary District Legal Services Authority.
A total number of ten benches were constituted at District Court Complex, Jammu. The first bench was presided over by Kikar Singh Parihar, presiding officer, MACT Jammu assisted by Tahir Khursheed Raina, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Jammu and advocate Beauty Pandita Retainer Lawyer, DLSA Jammu dealt with MACT Cases/Consumer Cases and succession certificates.
The second Bench was presided over by Nighat Sultana, Addl. District Jude, Bank cases, Jammu, assisted by Virinder Singh Bhou, 2nd Addl. District & Sessions Judge Jammu and Advocate Veena Julmaria Retainer Lawyer, TLSC Jammu dealt with Bank Cases.
The third Bench was headed by Kalpana Revo, Addl. District Judge Matrimonial Cases Jammu assisted by Naushad Ahmed Khan Secretary DLSA Jammu, dealt with Matrimonial Cases.
The fourth Bench was headed by Deepak Sethi, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, assisted by Rajni Bhagat, 3rd Addl. Munsiff, Jammu.
The fifth Bench was headed by Surjeet Singh Bali, Sub-Judge Spl. Mobile Magistrate Jammu, assisted by 0.P Bhagat, Municipal Magistrate, Jammu dealt with Municipal & Revenue Cases.
The sixth bench was presided over by Prem Sagar, City Judge Jammu and assisted by Smriti Sharma Sub-Registrar Jammu, dealt with Excise Cases and Civil Cases.
The seventh Bench was headed by Pawan Sharma, Sub-Judge Jammu, and assisted by Preet Simran Kour, Munsiff Jammu, dealt with Criminal Compoundable and Petty Criminal offences cases.
The eighth Bench was headed by Sudesh Sharma, Sub/Judge Electricity Magistrate Jammu and assisted by Shabnam Sheikh, Forest Magistrate, Jammu, dealt with Electricity, Water and Passenger tax, Cases.
The ninth Bench comprised of Sandeep Gandotra, Special Mobile Magistrate, Passenger Tax Jammu, and Parvez lqbal, Railway Magistrate, Jammu dealt with cases related to Passenger Tax, Railway Cases and Civil cases of all nature.
The tenth Bench comprised of Jeewan Kumar Sharma, 2nd Addl. Munsiff, Jammu and Adv. Salil Gupta, Retainer Lawyer TLSC Jammu dealt with cases related to Traffic Matters and Petty Offences.
A total number of 835 cases were taken up, out of which 649 cases have been decided. A total of Rs. 48654760/- was settled in the Lok Adalat. Lok Adalat Benches were also constituted at Tehsil Headquarters at Akhnoor, Bishnah, and R.S. Pura which were presided over by respective Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committees.
