Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has expressed concern over the shortage of construction material like stone, sand, bajri beside others. They urged upon the UT administration to take proper steps to make it available to the general public at reasonable rates. According to press release, Thakur Manmohan Singh, General Secretary of JKPCC said that on one hand government has banned all illegal mining of sand, stone, bajri etc. but it is available in the market on double of its price. "This has affected the construction work and the ultimately sufferers are the general public and the Govt. contractors. They have to spend more to continue their construction work , as they are purchasing stone, sand, bajri on double rate, which is unfortunate", he said. PCC General Secretary demanded that government should understand the difficulties of general public in this regard and appropriate measures should be taken to stop illegal mining and black marketing of Stone, Sand and Bajri, immediately in the larger interest of general public. |
