Jammu, Mar 6: The sale of meat products have dipped partially in the hotels, restaurants and also the shops dealing in sale of meat and eggs in view of rising threat of Coronavirus have witnessed slump in the sale. The hotels and restaurants, which used to remain almost full especially during weekends, have witnessed slight dip in the sale as people were avoiding eating ready made cooked food particularly the meat products. ''As of now, only some per cent of sale has effected and that too after coronavirus cases were tested positive in India,'' the manager of a private hotel here said. He said that two suspected cases were also reported in Jammu having travel history of coronavirus hit countries and they have been admitted in the isolation wards of the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and after that the sale during night hours, have come down in the past three days. ''People used to purchase raw meat from the shop for cooking it at home but for the past some days, the first question I face is that from where do comes the supply of chicken and meat and how much hygenic are the products?'', said a trader dealing in wholesale of meat and egg products. He added that many people have stopped purchasing the meat items particularly the red meat claiming that it transfers coronavirus germs to the body. ''Earlier the restaurant used to remain full on weekends but last Saturday and Sunday, the rush of visitors was less and those visited, mostly ordered vegetarian dish,'' said the a restaurant owner. He however, claimed slash in the sale due to the epidemic when it comes to meat products.
