JAMMU, Mar 6: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed the progress on widening work and land acquisition on Nashri to Banihal stretch of Jammu- Srinagar National Highway, here at a meeting. The meeting was attended by Chief Conservator of Forest, Ramesh Kumar; Chief Engineer PWD, Des Raj; MD JKSFC, Vasu Yadav; Manager NHAI, superintendent Engineer, JKPTCL and other concerned officers. Deputy Commissioner Ramban along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing. The Div Com sought details of land acquisition cases, structure removal cases, tree cutting, disbursement of compensation and shifting of electricity towers in the district. He asked the DC Ramban to complete the process for smooth execution of work on the vital road project. He also directed for removing pending structures where land compensation has been disbursed. Reviewing the progress on shifting of electricity towers, the concerned officers apprised that 10 towers need to be shifted on Nashri to Ramban stretch of National Highway. It was further informed that land has been acquired and 2 towers have been shifted while work on 6 towers is in progress. The Div Com also sought progress on shifting of towers on Ramban to Banihal stretch. The concerned officers informed that land for majority of towers has been acquired, while process for remaining is in progress. It was informed that the work on shifting of towers is in progress where land has been acquired.
