Women’s day poster competition organized at IMFA

Jammu, Mar 6: A poster competition in connection with International Women’s Day was organized today by the Deptt. of Applied Art at Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu. The theme of the competition was ‘Celebrating International Women’s day 2020’. Students of various departments of the Institute participated in the competition.
The event was coordinated by Rakesh Sharma, HoD, Applied Art Department of IMFA. According to Sharma, the objective of this competition was to promote and sensitize the young minds for the gender equality. He said that the Institute has been organizing such events in the Institute to promote values among the youth. He informed that the slogan for the International Women’s Day for the year 2020 has been ‘I am a Generation Equality’. He added that this may bring into play the sense awareness among the youth who may help in improving spirit of equality between genders in the society and thus help to add to nation building through visual art. Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Satnam Kaur, Principal IMFA said that the Applied Art Department of the Institute has been doing good job by organizing art & culture events, particularly, the events impressing upon the healthy young generation through competitions and other programmes under the supervision of Rakesh Sharma, HoD, Applied Art Department and his faculty members of the department.
