| Horticulture department distributes fruit plants at Majalta | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 6: The Horticulture department at Majalta distributed fruit plants under the ongoing flagship programme "Backyard Horticulture" under the scheme CAPEX at Majalta block of tehsil Majalta. Chairperson Block Development Council Majalta Dina Nath Bhagat was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion the chairperson BDC appreciated the efforts of the horticulture department for initiating such fruitful programmes. He also impressed upon farmers to take full benefit of the departmental schemes to enhance their farm income thereby improving their standard of living. Horticulture development officer Majalta informed that under this programme atleast three fruit plants amounting to ?200 will be distributed to the farmers at 90% subsidy covering 1000 households in tehsil Majalta. He also demonstrated the plantation techniqes of these plants strictly under horticulture norms in presence of chairperson majalta, sarpanches, naib sarpanches and panches of different panchayats of tehsil Majalta so that proper pit size,plant to plant distance, application of fertilizers etc can be taken care of by the beneficiaries. |
