Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 6: The Department of Public Health and Engineering has contested a news report 'Residents of Mendhar accuse PHE Department of Supplying contaminated water’ appearing in a section of press. Clarifying the facts, the department said that the water tank without dome, shown in the picture with the news item, does not pertain to PHE Department. But as observed at site, during tour of Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch on 14.12-2020, it was found to be an incomplete tank being constructed by villagers of Java Manjhari. The water supply to this hamlet, upper Java Manjhari, is being made from WSS Jarranwali Gall, which has a perennial spring source, the department said. Similarly, there is no report of outbreak of any disease from the concerned authorities received as mentioned in the news, the department said adding that “the news items being not based on the facts is refuted & denied accordingly.” |
