COVID-19: Kishtwar admin to involve grassroot level workers for spreading awareness

KISHTWAR, Mar 12: District Administration Kishtwar has decided to involve and train grassroot level health workers to educate people about COVID-19.
District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara asked the Chief Medical Officer to train and sensitize health workers at block level by March 15 and submit a report in this regard on daily basis.
The DDC was chairing a meeting of officers of health and ICDS department convened to took stock of measures being taken to tackle the Corona threat at the ground level.
During the meeting, the DDC also took stock of establishment of isolation wards, home quarantines and availability of masks, essential medicines, awareness generation programmes and sensitization of staff, among others.
The DDC further directed the CMO to conduct frequent inspections at public places, such as bus stands, Hotels and other places of social gatherings and educate the masses about problem of spreading COVID 19.
The meeting was also attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; DSWO, Tariq Qazi; Chief Medical Officer Dr. R S Manhas; Medical Superintendent DH, Dr. Tariq Parveez; Dy CMO Dr. Mohammad Farid Butt; AD Planning, Munish Kumar among others.
Later, the DDC convened a meeting with hoteliers and reviewed status of the precautionary measures taken by them to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
