Inter-state weapon dealer arrested; 1 pistol, 3 live cartridges recovered

Jammu, Mar 12: Jammu Police have arrested an inter-state weapon dealer along with his accomplice and recovered one pistol and three live cartridges from their possession.
According to sources a notorious interstate weapon dealer Vikas Kumar resident of Gorkha Nagar Jammu was arrested from Bishnah area after a special team led by SDPO R.S Pura Shabir Khan and SHO Bishnah Insp. Deepak Pathania intercepted Vikas with accomplice namely Kanwar Yogesh resident of Gorkha Nagar Jammu.
Police have recovered one country made Pistol, a magazine and three live cartridges from their possession along with the bike used in transaction of the weapon. Subsequently a case FIR 44/2020 U/S 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah.
During the course of investigation, Bishnah Police have solved a mysterious firing incident case which happened at Gandhinagar on 21-08-2019 in which Kanwar Yogesh was injured after a bullet hit him in his arm. It came to fore that it was Kanwar Yogesh only who with the help of one of his friend namely Dalvinder Bhau cooked a story to trap his in-laws in this incident.
Pertinently, Dalvinder Bhau fired upon Kanwar Yogesh after getting a payment from Kanwar Yogesh. A case FIR no. 225/2019 U/S 307 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act was registered at P/S Gandhinagar in this context. In the coming days, more arrests in these cases cannot be ruled out. With the recovery of weapon and arrests of accused Police have averted mishappening in the town. The whole operation was closely monitored by Raja Adil SP Headquarter Jammu under the supervision of Shridhar Patil SSP Jammu.
