FoIJ seeks promotion of micro, small sectors’ through road shows | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 12: Federation of Industries, Jammu Chairman, Rattan Dogra and Co-Chairmen Jatinder Aul and Deepak Dhawan urged J&K Govt. show similar urgency to improve the present state of local Micro/Small sector considering the fact that contradictory and unsympathetic policies have brought Micro/Small sector on the verge of closure in J&K. “Local Micro/Small Industrial sector that provides jobs to over three lacs local populace, second largest after J&K Govt. and wishes to actively associate and participate in the rapid industrialization to create large scale additional employment avenues”, they said, adding that the simultaneously FOIJ impresses upon the concerned authorities to acknowledge the role of the local ‘sons of the soil’ entrepreneurs who have continued their unfailing and sincere efforts in our land locked region with meagre population situated at the fag end of the country which has remained mostly militancy infested for over 30 years. FOIJ has been trying to seek the favourable attention of the concerned authorities to accord similar encouragement to existing local Micro/Small sector as have been promised to the prospective investors. FOIJ requests the Lt. Governor and his advisors to defer the implementation of Gem Portal for Govt. purchases at least for the remaining period of current financial year. that shall enable local Micro/Small units to be able to supply their goods to various Govt. Departments/Agencies for the early completion of their developmental works. FOIJ also reminded that the previous popular Govt. devised new Industrial Policy in 2016 which failed to attract any worthwhile fresh investment from outside the state even two three big houses which planned their manufacturing units packed midway due to callous and unfriendly attitude of the state Govt.
