| Horticulture Deptt organizes Bhagwani Mela | | |

Vijaypur, Mar 12: A district level event Bagwani Mela was organized today at Vijaypur by the department of horticulture Samba under the centrally sponsored scheme MIDH (Mission for integrated development of horticulture).
The programme was attended by over 400 farmers and orchardists of the district.
Various departmental stalls with live fruit samples from the field of the district along with machineries that are availabile for farming on incentives were displayed.
Rohit Khajuria, KAS, DDC Samba was the chief guest of the event. Sh. Chander Prakash, KAS, SDM and CPO samba Sukhleen Kaur were the special guest on the occasion.
Anil Kumar Gorkha Chief Horticulture officer Samba apprised the farmer about the departmental schemes in detail and pressed upon them to take up horticulture so as to double their farm income. Sh. Ashwini Sharma DLSMS deliberated on various management practices to be followed in orchard. Representatives of allied departments;agriculture, sheep husbandry, animal husbandry were also present.
Sarpanches and panches of various panchayats also attended the programme. |
