ICPS, MSK Kishtwar spread awareness on Swachta Pakhwada and Coronavirus | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Mar 12: To acquaint, sensitize and mobilize the people about Swachhta Pakhwada, District Child Protection Unit and Mahila Shakti Kendra Kishtwar today on the directions of District Child Protection Officer and Incharge Programme Officer (ICDS), Tariq Parvez Qazi organized awareness programme in the Juggis (slums) of Shakti Nagar Kishtwar. The programme were aimed at intensifying awareness generation on the importance of Swachhta Pakwadha which aims at making India Open Defecation Free, Making Indian Clean and Green and changing the mindset of the common masses about taking an imitative to work for cleanliness of neighborhood and surroundings. In this regard, People residing in Juggis (slums) of Shakti Nagar area were made aware about personal hygiene, community sanitation and use of latrines. During the programme, Protection Officer (Non Institutional Care ), ICPS Kishtwar, Touseef Iqbal Butt urged all the people to take it as their personal responsibility to keep their surroundings neat and clean. He asked them to aware the women and children about the importance of cleanliness. Cleanliness should be a part of a habit and routine. There is a need to take big steps for this major change. Meanwhile, Legal cum Probationary Officer, ICPS Kishtwar, Basharat Nazir motivated the participants to implement Swachhta in day to day life on regular basis without restricting to a particular day or place. On the occasion, District Coordinators of Mahila Shakti Kendra Kishtwar, Hina Jaan and Shanu Rani said that cleanliness is the best way to keep a body healthy. They also said that the people of this area need to be healthy and good health will only happen when there is cleanliness. It is pertinent to mention here that the participants were also sensitized about the coronavirus and people were asked not to shake hands or hug each other. The children including their parents were also asked to wash their hands frequently and to report to doctors if they feel unwell. They were also told to maintain high standards of hygiene at home. |
