LeT Terrorist killed in Rafiabad, arms, ammunition recovered | | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, Mar 13: A militant was killed today in a brief encounter in Shutloo Rafiabad area of this north Kashmir district, arms and ammunition have been also recovered from his possession. A top police official said that, today afternoon there was a specific intelligence report about the presence of militants in the Shutloo village of Rafiabad area, after which a joint team of army’s 32 RR, police, SoG, and 92 Bn of CRPF carried out search operation in the area. Earlier there was information about the presence of militants in the areas, but after exchange of fire from both the sides, there was only one militant hiding in the area, the official said. There was an exchange of fire from both the sides, after which the all the entry and exits points were sealed, till the operation was over, adding the encounter rages in the jurisdiction of police station Panzala, the police official said. The official said that, one local militant was killed in the shootout; interestingly he has recently joined the militant ranks, adding one AK-47 rifles, hand grenades, and three magazines were recovered from the encounter site. Soon after the encounter, the searches were going on till the last reports came in. Meanwhile sources identified the militant as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat S/O Sonaullah Bhat R/O Shutloo, adding he had recently joined the LeT militant outfit. |
