BMS takes up workers' demands before Dy Labour Com | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: A deputation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) called on Deputy labour commissioner Jammu province and brought in to her kind notice the demands of workers. According to press release, the deputation was led by Harbans Choudhary senior leader of BMS along with Ashok Choudhary General Secretary Sachin Bali. They apprised the Commissioner there is lot of exploitation with the workers engaged through labour supplier contractors by the big industrial houses as workers perform skilled category work but wages are paid of unskilled workers no wage slips and employment cards are provided and illegal deduction are made from their wages and now principal employers has adopted new method of employment as they hire workers from open market and by evening they paid them case wages and deprived them from ESI and PF benefits and regular workers are being laid off intentionally and there is no check from PF and ESI officials. Securities agencies employ security guards but wages are not paid accordingly 12 hours duty has become common practice but over time is not paid as per law and on the other side work load has been increased on the workers at the cost of workers' health and safety, they said. BMS has demanded that renewal of principal employer and labour supplier contractor licences be stop till the labour contractor full fill all required formalities under law. The Deputy labour commissioner assured to look into the issues. |
