PCC hails decision of shutting down educational institutions | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: Jammu and Pradesh Congress Committee has said that the decision to shut all schools, colleges and universities besides other precautionary measures are the steps in right direction in view of the WHO alert over coronavirus spread however these measures are not adequate and more steps are needed. JKPCC Spokesman has said that similar other institutions like Anganwadi centres should also be closed down besides several other crowded private institutions of different sorts be also asked to follow the advisory. However he questioned the purpose of directing the teaching staff to remain present in schools in the absence of students rather they should be asked to be ready for extra-class work, later on when schools resume working. The party said that still there is shortage of standard masks in the market besides there should be provision of free masks to the BPL poor families in cities and rural areas for which assistance of PRIs, besides Anganwadi centres and school teachers can be sought. There should also strict advisory for social gatherings and functions to adhere to standard norms in this regard. |
