CUJ holds 16th Executive Council meeting

JAMMU, Mar 13: The 16th meeting of the Executive Council of the Central University of Jammu (CUJ) was held at University campus Rahya Suchani with Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima in chair.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ashok Aima informed the meeting about the holding of 2nd Convocation. The Vice-Chancellor informed that the first Convocation of the university was held on 18th March, 2018 and the university is planning to hold the 2nd Convocation in the first quarter of the year 2020. The Vice-Chancellor assured the members that Convocation will be held every year or once in two years depending upon the number of graduating students/scholars.
The Vice-Chancellor also presented the details of various research projects obtained by the faculty of the university. He apprised the members that more than 46 research projects have been funded from different external organizations amounting to nearly Rs 20 crores besides funding from DRDO and ISRO as well would more than Rs 80 crores. The Worthy members appreciated the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor in attracting the best-talented faculty from across the globe who have contributed tremendously in the development of the university.
Prof. Udai Pratap Singh Professor and Head Department of Anthropology, Lucknow University, Lucknow, Prof. Sushil Kumar Gupta Professor, Division of Agro-forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-Jammu, while Prof Talat Ahmad Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir and Prof, Prof Mehraj ud din Mir, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir were special invitee. All Deans of CUJ were also present in the meeting. Registrar, Dr Ravi Kumar, who is also Member Secretary, presented the Executive Council agenda.
