Early Tiems Report

MENDHAR Mar 16: The border residents in Balakot, Mankot and Mendhar Sub division of Poonch district raised the demanded early construction of underground bunkers for their safety.
Faced with frequent shelling by Pakistani troops, the people residing along the Line of Control (LoC). Locals from dozens of villages, including Balakot,Bsooni,Mendhar, Panjani, Mankot, Sagra,Balnoi and Gohlad told that the difficulties they faced due to frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan. They complained about the lack of basic infrastructure like drinking water, electricity and road connectivity, and made various demands to rectify the situation in the area, the locals said.
Saleem Ahmed, Shaqoor Hussain and Mushtaq Ahmed said that orders were given to immediately complete the bunkers from the central government, but the construction work is still pending. We have told the officials many times but no one paid attention. Two or three times in the last one week, Pakistan has fired at Basuni and Gohlad villages without any provocation, in which our houses have been damaged and on the other hand our bunkers have not yet completed. There is another demand from our government, these bunkers are being built, they are becoming community. There are some areas here and there are far away homes, so we need individual bunkers.
People have demanded from the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory that the construction work of our bunkers is incomplete, orders should be given to complete them quickly because we face daily trouble due to the shelling of Pakistan.
