Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 16: Despite tall claims, government has failed to cancel various attachments in the Health and Medical Education Department due to which patient care has taken a hit.
According to reliable sources many pharmacists and class fourth employees that were appointed in Pattan block in norh Kashmir’s Baramulla district were attached at some other places. “Arif Banday works in Uri area, Mohammad Shafi Shah works in regional Institute of Dhobiwan and Nazir Ahmad Wani is working in Baramulla,” sources added. They said, “Fact of the matter is that, these employees are getting their salary from Pattan hospital and they are performing their duties somewhere else.”
Sources said that, there is a dearth of staff members at SDH Pattan, in the month of April-May 2020 few pharmacists would be attaining superannuation in Pattan block. “This will lead to crisis like situation,” they added.
A few weeks back, Health and Medical Education Department issued an order no: 222-JK (HME) of 2020, dated 28-02-2020 and posted doctors awaiting orders of adjustment at different places. “Few doctors joined to their new place of postings but many did not,” sources added.
Few months before, a delegation from Pattan met Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education J&K and informed him that the staff members of Pattan hospital have been posted at different places. “After the delegation met the Financial Commissioner, he marked a letter to the Director Health Services Kashmir asking him to detach all attachments by 1/1/2020.
Meanwhile sources said, “In trauma centre at Pattan hospital there is no staff, including a cardiovascular surgeon and an Orthopedican.”
