3/16/2020 10:48:59 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 16: The delegation of Jammu Hotels, Restaurants and Bar Association led by its president Raju Chowdhary met Deputy Commissioner Jammu today. The delegation spoke at length with DDC and appreciated how proactively the government is taking due measures to ensure the virus does not spread and made a few suggestions so that businesses can continue and precautionary measures are taken side by side. Main suggestions included use of thermal guns which monitor the temperature of all the incoming guests into the hotel like it is being done in the hotels in Delhi, limiting the banqueting gathering to 200, limiting restaurant crowd to 4 people on a table with a safe distance of a couple of metres between the guests. He also emphasised how heavily businesses suffered in the months of August and September when Articles 370 and 35 A were abrogated and currently with heavy salaries, power bills and bank loans amounting to crores of rupees per month were looming over all the stakeholders heads, how closing down businesses would have adverse effect on each and everyone in a crippling manner. The meeting went off well with the DC giving a patient hearing and said they are reviewing the situation and keeping a close watch so that the virus does not spread and will take a decision as soon as they feel the situation is under control which can also be before the 31st of March 2020.
