Covid-19: DDC appeals people to maintain hygiene, avoid close contact

POONCH, MAR 18: District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav today appealed the people to maintain personal hygiene and avoid close contact to combat the spread of Corona virus.
Addressing a press conference, the DDC sensitized the people about the seriousness of Coronavirus which has been declared as pandemic across the world. He informed that since a large number of cases are being reported and confirmed in several countries including India and it is high time to aware people about Coronavirus and its fatal effects.
He informed that restrictions have already been imposed under section 144 and urged public to cooperate with district administration. He also informed that National Disaster Management Act has been invoked and directions have also been issued towards mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 in the district. It was further informed that order has already been issued for closure of all parks and gardens in the district upto March 31, 2020 as preventive measure.
He appealed to the people to maintain personal hygiene and avoid any close contact with person having symptoms of respiratory infection. He also appealed the people who have returned from any kind of foreign visit to be in home quarantine for atleast 14 days for the safety of their loved ones and community.
DDC informed that quarantine wards have been established in District Hospital Poonch, if there is any person showing symptoms of the virus should be reported immediately.
