Anantnag, Mar 23: One person was booked and twenty shops were sealed for violating lockdown orders in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday. According to reports, Anantnag police today registered a case against one person for violation of orders promulgated by the District Magistrate Anantnag putting restriction on the movement of people in view of COVID 19 pandemic. “Today at a check point, a vehicle driven by Kamran Manzoor Buhroo was intercepted and the driver was informed about the order issued by the DM Anantnag wherein DM has imposed restrictions on the public movement in the district as a necessary measure to control COVID 19 pandemic, However the said individual violated the order and accordingly was booked under the provision of sec 188 IPC,” reads the press issued by police. Further investigation in the matter is in progress, Police said. Meanwhile, Municipal Council Anantnag also sealed as many as twenty shops for violating the lockdown orders. A team led by President Municipal Council Anantnag Hilal Ahmad Shah raided several locations in Anantnag town and spotted as many as twenty shops open in violation of orders issued by Anantnag District Magistrate. “Shops were sealed immediately,” Hilal Ahmad Shah told Early Times. He informed that Municipal Council Anantnag is continuing its sanitation program in close coordination with district administration and police. |
