BJP workers distribute fruit, defy social distancing at Lakhanpur | COVID-19: Charity defeats purpose | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 27: At a time when social media is flooded with videos and photos, wherein Police seems thrashing people for not staying in home due to countrywide lockdown in wake of deadly Coronovirus, the BJP workers at entrance of J&K seem distributing fruits to stranded people with caring ‘social distancing’ advised by administration to break chain of COVID-19. Though, it is a goodwill gesture towards the stranded people who have nothing to eat due to lockdown, but not at the cost of risking their lives, as the main component of guidelines issued by World Health Organisation (WHO) seems missing in this Charity reported at Lakhanpur. Unfortunately, the guidelines are being defied none other than the BJP workers. To stop and fight against the spread of coronavirus, (COVID-19) in country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the people to follow the nationwide lockdown for 21 days (till April 14) to defeat pandemic of deadly Corona Virus. The J&K administration too making sure proper implementation of lockdown and the guidelines suggested breaking the chain of Corona spread. Social distancing for public and avoiding crowd are the basic components of the guidelines. But the things in J&K are contrary to Government’s rules and regulation setup for the pandemic. According to several photographs and videos in possession of Early times, at the gateway of J&K, Lakhanpur long queue of stranded people without maintaining social distancing cab be seen that too for getting fruit being distributed by the BJP workers. |
