RAJESH TANDON EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 14: Akhnoor police has allegedly been adopting pick and choose policy in allowing the movement of vehicles on National Highway during lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Sources told Early Times that although essential services are allowed during lockdown but Akhnoor police have been found on wrong foot, when it was seen that arbitrary steps are being taken by police in allowing the movement of vehicles. “Many vehicles are crossing the nakas at Chowki Choura without permissions, while some despite having valid reason particularly related to health issues are being stopped and not allowed to move further, which has been raising resentment among the people,” they said. They further said that recently some trucks loaded with vegetables crossed Akhnoor and Chowki Choura nakas, which were travelling without permission. Not only this even a week ago, an ambulance crossed these points wherein many people were sitting in violation of social distancing. Such incidents clearly show that police have been taking the importance of lockdown lightly, they alleged. |
