Team Jammu takes another initiative, donates blood to needy | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: Continuing its welfare initiatives at the time of ongoing lockdown due to COVID-19 threat, Team Jammu has come forward with another noble cause of donating blood to the needy. The Team Jammu volunteers, led by Chairman Zorawar Singh Jamwal, are donating blood to the patients who are in severe need of the same because of certain ailments. These patients include the kids suffering of Thelasemia, pregnant women and patients suffering from chronic diseases like cancer, whose parents approached Team Jammu. According to Zorawar Singh Jamwal, the Team Jammu has prepared a list of young volunteers, who have offered themselves for donating blood at this time of crisis. “Besides continuing our service of distribution dry ration to the poor and installing containers of sanitizers at public places like near banks and ATMs, we have started this new initiative after Team Jammu came to know about shortage of blood in the hospitals,” he said. So far, the Team Jammu volunteers have donated blood to around a dozen patients while a list of more than 150 such volunteers has been prepared, who have offered to donate blood on a call at any time. Pertinent to mention that ever since the lockdown was implemented, Team Jammu volunteers have been distributing dry ration among the needy families across Jammu. Besides, the Team Jammu has also installed some containers of homemade sanitizer near banks and ATMS for fighting COVID -19. Zorawar Singh said that Team Jammu will leave no stone unturned to serve the society, particularly at the time of present crisis when entire world is struggling hard against COVID-19 pandemic. He also appealed people, particularly youth, to come forward and join hands with Team Jammu for the cause of serving society.
