UDHAMPUR, Apr 19: Police have booked Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Majalta, storekeeper of tehsil Majalta and some dealers for alleged black marketing of kerosene oil. The police has lodged an FIR no as 35/2020 u/s 3/7, EC Act, 409/ IPC at P/S Majalta dated 19/4/2020 and registered the case against the TSO, storekeeper and few dealers after black marketing of thousands of litters Kerosene oil came to fore. It was alleged that signatures of some dealers were forged to divert the supply of kerosene oil to some favorites. Those dealers whose signatures were forged expressed no knowledge over the developments. Sources informed that 4000 ltrs of kerosene oil was allotted in favour of retail oil dealers of tehsil Majalta on the direction of the concerned TSO but the actual allotment was made only to two or three dealers. “As per allotment 600 ltrs oil has to be given to per dealer and all dealers are directed to issue kerosene oil to those TPDS families who don’t have LPG connection as per SRO - 285 guidelines. Though it made to look like that kerosene oil was released in favour of 7 dealers in different places of tehsil Majalta but in reality the oil was given only to two or three dealers with fake signatures of other dealers who expressed no knowledge over the development. It was done at the behest of the concerned TSO Madan Lal,” said sources. They further informed that the TSO was involved in black-marketing of Kerosene oil and there were several complaints against him in the past. The Block Development Committee (BDC) Chairman Majalta and many other people demanded suspension of the erring TSO and redeployment of his predecessor saying that he was honest. Locals demanded that the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Commissioner Secretary of FCS & CA department should intervene into the matter and all the supply records should be cross-checked adding that an enquiry should also be ordered against the erring TSO. When contacted, Assistant Director CAPD Department, Udhampur, said that he will look into the matter and take action against those who were involved in these malpractices.
