Kishtwar, May 8: President Shiv Sena Chenab Valley, Tilak Shan has demanded exemption of power tariff for March, April and May 2020 keeping in view the lockdown due to Covid 19 pandemic.
Shan in a statement said that Chenab Valley is generating thousand MWs of electricity and is supplied to other states of India, but it is a matter of great concern that the government has not supplied even a single unit of electricity free of cost to the residents of the valley. He said that due to lockdown the labourers, poor needy people have no source of income so from where they will provide electric tariff to the Government . Shan demanded that electric tariff for three months be exempted so they may not be harassed on account of electric tariff.
