YLA demands evacuation of stranded migrant labourers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 8: Young Lawyers Association (YLA), J&K High Court Jammu said that district administration of Jammu should take a serious and prompt action to transport stranded labourers to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states of India from Jammu as their condition is deteriorating day by day. Issuing a press statement, Nitin Bakshi, Advocate, President said that the stranded migrant labourers can initiate harsh steps of walking on foot and results can be disastrous as today we heard a heart wrenching news of crushing of poor labourers by train as they were taking a nap on railway track because they were exhausted after day and night of walk. He said that the administration without wasting time should initiate a prompt and quick step to transport these stranded labourers as they are losing patience and the probability is that they can even come on roads for protest which is a huge threat to social distancing. |
