JMC introduces Petro Card facility for its vehicles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU. May 11: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) signed an agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited through their designated dealers for supply of petro products through fleet card facility to JMC vehicles. The trial run of the same was conducted here today in presence of Mayor, JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta and Commissioner, JMC, Avny Lavasa. Mayor while highlighting the benefit of the fleet card services, the JMC will able to rationalize the fuel utilization to JMC vehicles and also earned a discount of 1.75% on every refuel from the oil companies/dealers and added that insurance cover to drivers and cleaners upto Rs 6 lakh and Rs 4 lakh respectively will also be provided by the oil companies/dealers and in case of breakdown or accident of all municipal vehicles in that case necessary road assistance shall also be provided by the oil companies/dealers. The Commissioner, JMC stated that the Petro Card facility will help to save oil adding that every transaction in this regard shall be online which will help to reduce paper work and to save time too. She further stated that there will be a transparent system in refueling the JMC vehicles.
