MENDHAR, May 11: Several villages in Mendhar sub division are facing acute shortage of water for the last one month.
Reports received from various areas of Balakote, Mankote and Harni in Mendhar Sub Division said that due to leakage of PHE pipes the water supply to the villages like Kotan Ari ,Sangiot, Balakote, Gultha , Lanjiot, Harni , Sandote, Deri Dabsi, Bhati Dhar, Mohra Kallar,Bhera, Kalaban and over two dozen hamlets in these areas are facing acute shortage of water.
The people alleged that matter was brought to the notice of the concerned field staff and also the officials at PHE Sub Division, Mendhar but no improvement in the water supply has been witnessed. They sought the intervention of DC Poonch and Chief Engineer PHE Jammu into the matter.
