Technology at forefront of battle against COVID-19 pandemic: Ishant Gupta | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 11: On the eve of National Technology Day, Bharatiya Janata Party J&K UT information technology and social media department co-in-charge Ishant Gupta has greeted and saluted scientists and people behind all the technology growth in India and said that this day is celebrated every year on the eleventh day of May as a reminder of India’s technological advancements. He remembered former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee who coined this day to be observed as National Technology Day in order to highlight the importance of science in daily life and also a way to encourage youngsters to get into this field and also praises him for his role in the success of Pokhran tests in 1998. Gupta said that as we all are very much aware that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused widespread disruptions adversely impacting the global businesses and economy but the advanced technology is being deployed across the globe to fight the corona virus outbreak and in this difficult time of lockdown Technology has been at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19 pandemic. Gupta said that India has taken the global lead not just from the humanitarian angle, but also from research and technology perspective by providing innovative solutions useful for the global community. He said during lockdown technology is the last and only tool available to the citizens of country and everyone experiences the use of advanced technology via medium of video & audio conferencing for communication purpose, social sites & mobile applications for getting updates and information, for organizing group meetings, for educational lectures to students, for hearing of urgent matters in courts etc. |
