OBC Commission should be exclusively for community members: AIBCU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 20: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has said that according to the Act of the composition of the Backward Classes Commission in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the chairman must be from the OBC community but the person appointed is non-OBC. AIBCU questioned that why the chairman of the commission is non-OBC and why not the commission members are as per the Act of the commission adding that it is a deliberate attempt of the BJP Govt whose every action is directed towards injustice. AIBCU also lamented that while the order of composition of the Backward Classes Commission was the job of the Social Welfare Department whereas it was done by the Law deptt and hence the so constituted Backward Classes Commission is unconstitutional which does not fulfill the criteria of the Act. The Union said that the Social Welfare Department must take the cognizance of the mutiny done against the made Act adding that the OBCs urge the UT administration to reorganize the commission as per rules. Appointments of a non-OBC chairman and its two non-OBC members in contravention to the Act are fraudulent actions which are rejected out rightly by the OBCs of the UT. All executive members including M R Bangotra, Rakesh Kumar (Bunty), Gurmeet Singh, Junaeid Malik, Khursheed Ahmed Ahanger, SC Verma, SD Verma and its General Secretary attended the meeting called under the leadership of its president Abdul Majid Malik. |
