26 fresh positive cases, 113 active cases in north Kashmir | 8 persons discharged from TRC Salambad | | S TAHIR-UL HAQ

BARAMULLA, May 20: Twenty six fresh positive cases were reported in Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara districts while as there are 113 active positive and 8 persons were discharged today from TRC Salamabad Uri today. According to the district wise details, 1 fresh positive case was reported in Bandipora, while as 9 are active positive cases, 8 fresh positive cases were reported in Baramulla, 34 are active positive cases, and simultaneously 17 fresh positive cases were reported today in Kupwara, and there are 70 active positive cases. More eight persons of (Tabligi Jamat) belonging to Mumbai discharged today from Tourist Reception Center Salamabad Uri. Due to long stay of fifty five days, eight persons were discharged today after their Covid samples that were taken during this period turned negative from quarantine centre TRC Salamabad Uri. In charge quarantine center TRC Salamabad Uri Tariq Hashim oversaw their discharge and transportation to them up to Jammu, said sources. They said that, the group like all others before them was under through medical supervision period and was discharged after clearance from doctors and health authorities with the strict directions to remain in home quarantine. It is also learnt that a joint team of civil Administration along with Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday afternoon sealed Khidmat Centre at Warpora in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district for defying the prohibitory order and lockdown norms amid the Pandemic outbreak. Meanwhile, there are reports that, District Magistrate Kupwara Anshul Garg imposed restrictions under section 144 CrPC and section 34 of Disaster Management Act wherein strict restrictions on any public or vehicular movement shall remain enforced within the district from May 21 to May 25. An order issued by the District Magistrate reads that the restrictions are being imposed to control the spread of Coronavirus and to avoid any kind of gatherings in wake of forthcoming festivals. According to the order, concerned Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars have been appointed as duty magistrates who shall ensure enforcement of restrictions in their respective areas. The order also mandates concerned SHOs to make public announcements on loudspeakers and to ensure strict implementation of the said order. However, the order shall not be applicable on Govt Officers/Officials who are carrying valid identify cards, moreover, ambulance having valid referrals issued by Medical Officer or BMO and vehicles carrying essential commodities and having valid movement passes have also been exempted from the restrictions. |
