KUPWARA, June 17: Out of 108, Eighteen fresh positive cases were reported, there are 448 active positive cases, 18 recovered and 17 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir till date. According to the district wise positive cases as on June 17, 2020, In Baramulla district, seven fresh positive cases were reported today, total no of cumulative cases are 532, active positive cases are 298, and no recovery as on date and 11 deaths have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 09 fresh positive cases have been reported today, 419 are cumulative cases, 106 are active positive cases, 10 have recovered as on date, and 05 deaths have occurred so far. In Bandipora district, two fresh positive cases were reported today, whereas 248 are cumulative cases, 44 are active positive, 08 have recovered as on date and 01 death have occurred so far. Meanwhile, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan today reviewed the developmental scenario and Covid-19 control measures in this border district. He visited various places including Langate block, Nutnusa where he inspected construction work, he also visited Handwara block and inspected up gradation various projects. He also interacted with Sarpanchs, Panchs and enquired about their involvement in developmental works. Advisor also chaired a meeting at Conference Hall D.C. Office and reviewed the COVID-19 pandemic containment measures taken up by District Administration besides, taking stock of health and power sectors. He stressed on generation of mass awareness by involving PRIs, religious leaders, senior citizens and Asha workers regarding usage of masks, hand hygiene and maintaining social distance. Reviewing the issues of Border areas, he was informed that 85 Community bunkers are under execution at Karnah, Keran and Machill. While as the Assistant Labour Commissioner Kupwara, he has been tasked to identify all those migrant workers of the district so that they can be placed suitably in various government run schemes, which are presently in vogue in Jammu & Kashmir. The district administration Kupwara has been directed to explore the feasibility of employment in such schemes and put on job migrant labourers who have returned from various parts of the country or abroad, owing to the outbreak of COVID-19. Accordingly Labour Department Kupwara has been instructed to aware the general public and in particular these migrant labourers to register themselves on link www.jklabour.com/stranded/returned workers, hosted on website www.jklabour.com.
