ARUN JASROTIA Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, June 19: “Hard work never goes waste”, this phrase proved true by Vishali Dogra, who secured 96.8 percent marks (484 out of 500) in matriculation examination with her sheer grit and determination thereby bringing laurels not only to her family but also to her school and the entire district Udhampur. Daughter of a poor farmer Charan Dass of Nallah Mallian in Ramnagar Tehsil of District Udhampur, Vishali Dogra said that she was very happy to know that she secured 96.8 percent marks though she was quite confident of scoring good marks. She said it was a routine for her to take a daily walk of about one hour to reach Government High Secondary School Ghordi, where she was enrolled as a student, adding that though it was quite tough to daily walk from her village to school but her determination to do well in studies kept her motivating. Vaishali informed that she didn’t take tuitions as there was no provision as such to opt for tutorials in her village since it is a backward area. “As there were no tuition classes in my village, I made it a point to go for self-study at home and taking proper guidance from the teachers at the school,” she said.
