28 fresh positive cases, 520 active positive, 14 recoveries, 20 deaths so far in north Kashmir | Addl DC Bandipora sought enquiry into the incident of delivery of a pregnant lady | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, June 23: Out of 148, twenty eight fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 520 active positive cases, 1371 are cumulative, 14 recovered and 20 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir till date. According to the district wise positive cases as on June 23, 2020 (Tuesday), In Baramulla district, 16 fresh positive cases were reported today , total no of cumulative cases are 633, active positive cases are 348, and cumulative recovered are 271 including 04 cases that have recovered today, 14 deaths including of today have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 07 fresh positive cases have been reported today , 460 are cumulative cases, 124 are active positive cases, 331 are cumulative recovered including of 04 as on date, and 05 deaths have occurred so far. In Bandipora district, 05 fresh positive cases including 02 traveler and 03 others were reported today, whereas 278 are cumulative cases, 48 are active positive, 229 are cumulative recoveries including of 06 as on date and 01 death have occurred so far. Meanwhile Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora has sought an enquiry into the incident of delivery of a pregnant lady outside CHC Sumbal and alleged medical negligence thereof. An order was issued by the Addl DC Bandipora vide no: DCB/PS/2020/3204-07 dated: 23/06/2020, that said, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sumbal shall enquire into the incident of delivery of pregnant lady outside the premises of CHC Sumbal and alleged medical negligence. He shall submit a detailed report in 03 days positively along with concrete recommendations, said an order. However with related to the above order sources have told ET that, the district administration has taken cognizance of some reports wherein it was said that a lady had visited CHC Sumbal, where a medical officer on duty attended the patient and advised the patient for COVID test. Sources said that the hospital authorities had followed protocol, whereas the expected date of delivery (EDD) of the patient as per medical records was July 27, but the patient developed labor pain and had precipitated preterm labor and without wasting any time she was immediately shifted to labor room for further treatment. Both the mother and baby are said to be stable, while the district administration has sought an enquiry into the whole incident.
