Who is Pakistani ‘Ali Bhai’ in Jammu?
Security agencies on tenterhooks
6/23/2020 11:37:48 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 23: Even as the Border Security Force recently shot down a Pakistani drone with payload of arms and ammunition from International border in Jammu, the development has put the security agencies on tenterhooks amid apprehensions that a Pakistani terrorist codenamed “Ali Bhai” could be hiding in the region.
On June 20, the patrolling party of BSF from 19 Battalion spotted a Pakistani drone flying in the Rathua area of Hiranagar sector and fired eight rounds on it, thus shooting it down. The team recovered 1 M-4 US-made rifle, 2 magazines, 60 rounds of bullets and 7 grenades.
According to official sources, the police found the name of one “Ali Bhai” on the payload of the drone, suggesting that the delivery was for him.
Sources said whereas there were no specific details of any such terrorist being active in the area, the security agencies have inputs that it could be a Pakistani terrorist, conspiring to carry out a carry strike in the winter capital region.
Official sources said the main target of such terror groups has been the winter capital and that security has been further beefed up in the City of Temples here.
“Ali Bhai is for sure a Pakistani terrorist… We’ll track him down,” said a police official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said the police have started a major manhunt to trace down Ali Bhai and if the drone had been coming in the Indian territory.
Police sources said there was possibility that the remote-control of the drone could be with some terror sympathizers on the Indian side which means that the so called “Ali Bhai has his support network as well.”
Sources said the police are getting satellite images of the area to see if any such infiltration had taken place in the recent past as well and who all could be involved in it.
When contacted a senior police official said a FIR has been filed into the case and that investigations were underway. He said the police was fully prepared to foil any nefarious designs of the terror groups.
