JKSAC urges LG to issue advisory to revenue authorities regarding Domicile Certificate | | | Early times Report
JAMMU, July 22: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Committee (JKSAC) in a meeting held at Rohi Morh, Jammu urged upon Lt. Governor G.C. Murmu to issue advisory to the revenue authorities for strict compliance of Govt. Notification No. SO-166 dated 18th May 2020 and Order No. 52-JK(DMRRR) dated 16th May 2020 issued in connection with the issuance of Domicile Certificate. Addressing the meeting of Executive members while maintaining the Covid-19 protocol, Gurdev Singh, President alongwith Netar Parkash, Gen. Secy. that after receiving information from all the tehsil committees of JKSAC, and conducted tours of various tehsils of Jammu, Samba and Kathua and having interaction with the people, particularly DPs, it has been found that most of the Tehsildhars are quite ignorant of the said notifications/orders and are acting on the advice of their staff who in turn ask the people for submission of unwanted documents which are contrary to the spirit of notifications/orders thus causing harassment to people. He said that DPs of 1947 from POK particularly, being asked to submit the Form-A or other relevant documents besides PRC with the application form to prove their eligibility for the issuance of the Domicile certificate. He said as per the section-5(a) of the notification PRC holders are eligible for the issuance of Domicile certificate. The children of the PRC holders shall have to submit birth certificate alongwith PRC of their parents as per the section 5(b) of the said notification. |
