Jammu, July 22: As the monsoon has arrived in Jammu and Kashmir, the Department of Forests, Ecology & Environment has invited all to participate in “Van Mahotsav”.
The celebration through planting will commence on 27th July and will continue till 31st July 2020 in Jammu region.
“We appeal to all the Panchayats & Urban Local Bodies, Departments, Institutions, NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, RWAs, Students & Youth Groups, Defence & Paramilitary Forces and individuals to participate by planting”, the press release, reads, adding due to COVID-19 restrictions issued by the Government, there will not be any mass gathering.
Hence, all are requested to participate by planting saplings of local, flowering, ornamental and medicinal plants at their respective locations as part of Green J&K drive.
All are requested to adhere to social distancing norms and other restrictions due to COVID-19.
