SFC employees hold protest, demand release of pending salary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 23: Seeking release of their pending salary, the employees of SFC staged a protest demonstration here today. Suresh Sharma, spokesman of SFC Employees Forum, said that the employees are without salary for the last four months forcing them to come on roads and stage protest while taking their lives to risk in this Covid-19 surcharged environment. Sharma while talking to media explained that their all attempts in the past have proved failure as government has not moved till date to release pending pay. He informed that the call for protests was given by JKFCEF throughout JKUT simultaneously in Kashmir and Jammu. The protests were held throughout Jammu province at divisional HQs and due to lockdown in whole of Kashmir symbolic protests were held in far flung areas in forests of Kashmir province to express anger against the government for its failure to release salary and the employees even discharging their duties in far flung forests without pay and are at the verge of starvation, Sharma added. He lamented the casual approach of the govt. to deal with issues like release of pay, release of 7th pay commission dues, conducting of DPC. The employees are under shock and trauma for want of salaries as dependents of more than 2500 employees are tired of meeting their day to day needs during Covid-19, he said. There seems to be deliberate attempt to force the employees to raise hue and cry for even their legitimate dues inspite of clear cut instructions of Prime Minister of India to disburse salary in time during Covid period, he added. He appealed LG for his intervention and settle all pending issues of employees at the earliest. |
