Cong blames BJP for hardships, series of anti-people decisions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 23: Blaming BJP for its total failure to address the genuine problems and concerns of the people, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) said that the saffron party has miserably failed to live up to the expectations of the masses despite being the ruling party at the Centre and having secured heavy mandate in the elections from Jammu region. Addressing a meeting of top functionaries of Congress and District Presidents held here today at Party Headquarters, the PCC chief GA Mir said the problems of people being aggravated by the government at the behest of ruling BJP, by series of anti-people and anti-youth decisions of the present dispensation, during the grave threat and hardships already faced by the people due to corona crisis. The meeting while taking stock of the problems of people said that the government at the centre and UT administration is choosing the opportunity to take certain decisions against the wishes and aspirations and interests of the general public, taking advantage of the situation on account of Covid crisis, forcing the people to protest and come on roads, despite all odds, for which Congress is always on the forefront. The meeting expressed grave concern over the continuous spike in Covid situation and the great mismanagement and mishandling of government on various fronts. The party expressed concern over the panic amongst the people due to lack of proper facilities in the Quarantine Centres and in the hospitals even after over four months of the situation. The party also took stock of the various other issues confronted by the people and different sections of people including employees, unemployed youth, farmers, laboures and blamed the BJP Govt. and UT Administration for ignoring the genuine issues and concerns of different sections. Prominent among those who attended the meeting includes PCC Vice-Presidents, Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, G M Saroori, Kanta Bhan, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Co-Treasurer Rajnish Sharma, General Secretaries Abdul Majid Wani, Thakur Balwan Singh, Thakur Manmohan Singh, Faqir Nath, District Presidents Dr Manohar Lal Sharma (Kathua), Krishan Chander Bhagat (Udhampur) and Hari Singh Chib (Jammu Rural). |
