SAMBA, July 23: On the directions of Director Health Services, Jammu, District Health Society, Samba, in collaboration with Lion’s International Club Ramgarh, today organized a voluntary blood donation camp, here at Higher Secondary School ,Village Gho Brahmana. The Camp was inaugurated by Director Health Services, Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma. Around 26 voluntary donors donated blood in the camp. A team of the Doctors & Paramedical staff from Blood Bank, District Hospital Samba headed by Dr. Shweta Bhagat performed the job. The supporting staff was provided by Block Medical Officer, Ramgarh. The Camp was organized under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer, Samba, Dr. Rajinder Samyal. Chairman, Block Development Council, Ramgarh, Darshan Lal, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqu Gho Brahmana, Ram Pal, President Lion’s International Club Ramgarh, Sardar Sarvjeet Singh, Ex- sarpanch Keshav Sharma, Dy. CMO Samba., Dr. Sanjay Sharma , Block Medical Officer Ramgarh Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, Blood Donation camp Co-ordinator, Dr Vijay Thappa, PRI members & other prominent citizens were also present on the occasion. The camp was organized following all the mandatory precautions of maintaining social distancing & other measures keeping in view the COVID -19 guidelines. Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services, Dr. Renu Sharma, highlighted the importance of availability of safe Blood and also emphasized the need for gearing up Voluntary Blood Donation camps to meet the need for sufficient blood especially rare blood groups in case of emergencies. She also informed the people present that blood is required by all and can be donated by all irrespective of religion, caste, colour, creed and regions. She appealed the people from all strata of life to motivate regular voluntary blood donation. Chief Medical Officer Samba, Dr. Rajinder Samyal, informed public that blood can donated by a healthy person after three months and blood donation does not cause any sort of weakness or infirmity. |
