Former Cong ministers looted public money, never empowered democratic institutions: Suri | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 25: Coming down heavily on a chosen few former Congress ministers for criticizing Bharatiya Janata Party for no reasons, BJP J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that those, who are facing trials for grabbing state land and looting public money, are beating drums for small works done by tax payers money and have lost people's support. These parasites, who built mansions with tax payers’ money, are today a lost force and now trying to mislead masses by boasting of having served the community. Suri said that the story “From Rags to Riches" of such Congress leaders is known to the public. Instead of leaving their occupation of state land, they are shamelessly roaming on same streets of Jammu, where they looted its people by making false promises. This is the reason that they have lost the ground now and are not even able to gather people, so they just keep speaking to same five to six people on the streets. Suri said that these Congress leaders, in connivance with NC and PDP, allowed the elected municipal bodies to lapse and never held elections to them. They never extended the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment Act to Jammu and Kashmir, and these Congress leaders didn't even hold Panchayat polls or empowered these local bodies at grass root level. Lust of power didn't let powers to be decentralized and today, they are beating drums of good governance, which never existed during their tenure. He said such political parasites joined politics as novice with minimum financial resources, and today they are multi-millionaires. From where did they get all this money, it needs a thorough probe, he added. |
