Desperate to get publicity Iltija Mufti plays ‘victim-card’ | Mehbooba’s daughter denied permission to visit grave of her grandfather at Bijbehara amid pandemic situation | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 25: After denied permission to visit grave of her grandfather former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at Bijbehara in the Anantnag district, Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is desperately trying to project that Union Government is afraid of her. Following resignations of respectable senior leaders from the party, Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija is desperately trying to take control of the party by projecting herself as the only vibrant voice in the Valley. Iltija Mufti said she had sought permission four days ago. “I have been told it's a red zone, so I can't visit Bijbehara,” she said. But the biggest question is why she wanted to visit the grave of her grandfather at this point of time. On Saturday Iltija posted tweet after tweet from the official account of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti in which she tried to give an impression that she is the worst victim of the “oppressive policies” of the Union Government. Although she has yet to officially join her family owned PDP, she is strongly attacking Union Government through social media to attract media. “Citing COVID as a reason is an excuse. Ive been denied permission since January. Im simply being punished for speaking against GOIs ruthless actions in J&K. Last I checked it was Ms Mufti who was detained under PSA, not both of us”, she tweeted earlier in the morning. “This smacks of double standards. While the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is allowed to go anywhere in Kashmir, I have been barred,” she stated. While other SSG-protected persons, including two former Chief Ministers, were allowed to visit Gulmarg, security problems arose when she sought permission to visit the area. “I am being punished for speaking against the Centre's actions in J&K,” she said while trying to give an impression that she was more important than all other leaders of Kashmir Valley. |
