Tpt Nagar Traders appeal JDA; provide basic amenities, liberalize rules | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 28: The traders and shopkeepers of Transport Nagar Narwal appealed to the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) to properly maintain roads in all yards and provide basic amenities to the business community of the area. The traders alleged despite having sufficient revenue, the JDA is not maintaining the area nor handing over to other government agencies for further developing it. “The JDA authorities seems least bother to overcome suffering of local traders, roads in all the yards in deplorable conditions, hundreds of tons of garbage and filth dumped everywhere in the Transport Nagar”, the local traders said, adding that apart from lack of basic amenities in the area, they face difficulties when they visit JDA office. The JDA should liberalise its policies for the traders who own shops in Transport Nagar. “If someone sells his/her shop in the area he/she has to go through a very long procedure. When you buy, a shop you have to pay huge fees for registration of your shop, however, the J&K Housing Board is providing all facilities in the area developed by it that too on very reasonable rates”, they said, adding that most of the shopkeepers are those who were shifted here 1990, and for them nothing has changed in last 30 years. “We need financial support from the Bank to continue our business, but when we go to JDA for mortgage of our shop to avail bank loan the JDA deny the same”, they said. The Traders appealed to Lt. Guv. G C Murmu to liberalize the rules, so that they could support their destablised businesses due to lockdown.
