Jammu, July 28: The Sanatan Dharam Sabha has decided to celebrate first anniversary of reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir by observing ‘Ekatamta Divas’ with week long programmes to be observed across the Union Territory. Purshotam Dadhichi, President, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Jammu and Kashmir in a statement issued here said that the celebrations will commence from July 30 and continue till August 5. It was on August 5, 2019, the Central Government after breaking the barriers of the secessionist forces in Jammu and Kashmir, started new era of justice, transparency and ‘Ekatamta’ started, he said and added that celebrations will take place keeping COVID pandemic guidelines in place. He further elaborated that function of July 30 will be dedicated to the Martyrs of ‘Parjaparishad Andolan’, the agitators from Hiranagar, Ramban, Jourian and Sunerbani, who laid down their lives to keep the National Flag fly high and for ‘EK Vidhan, Ek Nishan and Ek Pradhan’. Whereas July 31 will be dedicated towards the soldiers sacrificing their lives while fighting against terrorism and guarding the borders of the country. However, he said that on August 2, the program will be focused on Constitution and Implementation of ‘Ek Vidhan’ in Jammu and Kashmir, on August 3, discussions will be held on various disputed Articles due to which many people were deprived of their rights since decades, August 4 event will focus on oath to commitment for which the Parliament has unanimously passed a resolution in the year 1994 to take back POJK and on August 5, Jammu and Kashmir ‘Ekatmta Divas’ will be celebrated. “Every house will unfurl the National Flag,” he said and added that people will be made aware of the benefits and changes due to ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan’, ‘Ek Pradhan’. On August5, 2019, Centre abolished Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. |
