AJKLTF expresses displeasure over functioning of School Education Deptt | | | Early Times Report
July 28: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) affiliated with Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) expressed its displeasure over the functioning of the School Education Deptt in the J&K UT. In a meeting of the AJKLTF, held under the chairmanship of its president Dev Raj Thakur and general secretary Rattan Sharma and attended by all the state executive members and representatives from all the Districts, it was alleged that after lapse of more than six years, the Deptt fails to conduct DPCs of teachers to Master grade and also alleged that the authorities are not serious over the issue. The participants said that more than 3000 Middle Schools in Jammu Division which were upgraded under SSA schemes are without Master grade post as the post of Master grade in Middle Schools not sanctioned by the Deptt. In such Schools some Masters were adjusted but without post and drawing salary from High/Higher Secondary schools. More than 2500 Masters promoted as Incharge Lecturers /Incharge Headmasters/ Incharge ZEO/Incharge Principal/Incharge CEOs during the last two years but in their own pay and grade. All the promotions conducted in own pay and grade are only eye wash with educated teaching fraternity as they are not regularized within six months’ time as mandatory under rules . Many posts of non-teaching staff are also vacant since long in the various Districts of the State but the DPC was not held by the concerned authority. The pick and choose in recent transfers in the School Education Deptt is another major issue in the Deptt. The Federation also expressed deep concern over sealing of powers of DSEJ/ CEOs in the matters of DPC/Transfers and demanded early retention of powers .
