Kavinder reviews progress of issuance of Domicile Certificates | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 28: Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, along with Ankush Gupta, BJP Jammu District General Secretary, visited the office of Tehsildar Bahu, to enquire from Tehsildar, Rohit Sharma, about the progress of issuance of Domicile Certificates in favour of inhabitants of Gandhi Nagar Constituency. Kavinder was informed that after proper verification of the documents, till date 3600 Domicile certificates have been issued by hand and more than 900 Domicile Certificates stand issued online in favour of the applicants. It was further informed that Domicile Certificates have been issued on the date of the applications were received, both online and offline. The residents of the area, who had reached the Tehsildar Office to submit their fresh applications, apprised Gupta of the minor and technical problems faced by them for obtaining the Domicile Certificates and Kavinder assured everyone that their genuine problems will be solved. Kavinder Gupta appreciated the progress registered by the Tehsildar and his team in disposal of the applications in the shortest time. He asked the Tehsildar to facilitate the public in applying for Domicile Certificates by engaging the PRIs and other public representatives, He laid stress on sharing the information regarding procedural requirements for obtaining the same by creating awareness amongst the general public by displaying boards outside the office, carrying the procedure for applying for the said Certificate in an easy and understandable manner. “Grant of citizenship rights was a long-pending demand of the people who were living in Jammu and Kashmir for many years and now after getting Domicile Certificates they will have equal rights as other citizens of Jammu and Kashmir”, Kavinder said and added that all those persons and their children who have resided for 15 years in Jammu and Kashmir or have studied for seven years and appeared in Class X and Class XII examinations through local educational institutions are eligible for grant of Domicile Certificate. The people of Gandhi Nagar, who were present there to apply for the said document, expressed their gratitude to the BJP and Narendra Modi led government at the centre for fulfilling their dream by granting citizenship rights.
